Do you want lots of rocker, skip every hole and resurface fully in control? The Dude will be your new mate that you can rely on on every river!
Lettmann’s team paddlers spent the last 12 months refining the new Dude on a variety of rivers. The first prototype was redesigned three times, followed by two further revisions incorporating the latest design features.
The Dude craves for modern paddling technique but also doesn’t let you down if you’re at the beginning of your kayaking career.
It skips you out of every backwash and lands smoothly after steps and drops – the sophisticated bottom with its innovative edges makes this possible. This gives The Dude high stability in every situation – yet it’s easier to edge than other kayaks of a similar width. The Dude is super safe and stable – yet incredibly dynamic.
We’ve given The Dude’s bow the perfect rocker. This allows it to run perfectly dry over eddylines and boils and you can easily lift it onto waves, holes, and curlers. The stern’s width and cleverly distributed volume give it plenty reserves, even for powerful drops and high-volume waterfalls. Gently rounded edges allow you to sink it effortless, making The Dude even easier to boof and allowing for fast changes of direction without being sensitive to cross currents.
Lettmann’s creekers always distinguished themselves from the rest through a unique combination of two seemingly contradicting features: fast tracking kayaks with excellent mobility and manoevrability. Following on from kayak milestones like Granate and Co. The Dude allows for line corrections at high speed.
The cockpit has been designed so that big guys are comfortable too. Lots of space for feet and knees and a large cockpit (96 cm long) allows easy and safe exit. Seat and thighbraces are individually adjustable and we offer the choice of two seats so a smaller paddler (75 to 110 kg) is still comfortable.
